Privacy Notice

IKPLLC, trading as Word of Mic, is the controller of personal data described in this notice.

Effective October 6, 2026

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, account identifiers, login and authentication records.
  • Business and event data: venue, performer, location, schedule, artwork prompts, generated artwork, attendance, fees, revenue, ratings, and performance results.
  • Support data: messages, requests, feedback, and correspondence.
  • Usage and device data: feature activity, timestamps, browser and device information, IP address, diagnostics, security events, and approximate location inferred from IP.
  • Preference data: membership, communication, and cookie choices.

Paddle independently collects and processes payment details necessary to complete purchases. Word of Mic does not need to store full card details.

2. Why we use data and our legal bases

  • To create accounts, provide memberships, generate artwork, manage events, and produce records — necessary to perform our contract.
  • To secure the service, prevent fraud, troubleshoot, analyze performance, and improve features — our legitimate interests in operating a safe and useful platform.
  • To answer support and rights requests — contract performance, legitimate interests, and legal obligations.
  • To send optional marketing communications or use non-essential cookies — your consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • To meet accounting, tax, regulatory, dispute, and law-enforcement obligations — compliance with law and our legitimate interests.

3. Who receives data

We may share relevant data with:

  • hosting, database, authentication, AI, analytics, communications, and customer-support providers acting as service providers or subprocessors;
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for product sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, customer service, and returns;
  • professional advisers such as legal, accounting, insurance, and audit providers;
  • authorities, courts, or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety; and
  • a successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data for money.

4. AI processing

Event details, creative instructions, and selected template context may be sent to AI service providers to generate requested artwork. Do not submit sensitive personal data or material you are not authorized to use. Generated outputs and associated event records are stored for your account as described in the service.

5. Retention

We retain account and service data while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. We may retain transaction, compliance, security, dispute, and backup records for longer periods required by law or legitimate business needs. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Retention periods depend on the data type, purpose, legal requirements, and risk.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted network connections, restricted private storage, and account-scoped access. No system can guarantee absolute security.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, and supplementary measures.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a portable copy of personal data; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and appeal or complain to your local data-protection authority. UK and EEA requests are ordinarily answered within one month, subject to lawful extensions. Some rights may be limited by legal obligations or valid exemptions.

To exercise a right, email hello@wordofmic.com. We may verify your identity before responding.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Word of Mic may use essential cookies or local storage for sign-in, security, session continuity, and saved preferences. With consent where required, analytics cookies may help us understand product use, and marketing cookies may measure campaigns. You can manage non-essential choices through available preference controls and your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may prevent account features from working.

10. Children and changes

The service is intended for businesses and working professionals, not children. We may update this notice and will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice where required.
